R380 Filler Plug Tool

This is for Defenders and the rare Discoveries with an R380 manual transmission. Make sure you have this filler plug tool before you drain the gearbox oil. Made in Germany. $10


Land Rover Prop Shaft Tool


This is a professional impact grade tool. It is specifically designed to access the nuts used on the front and rear drive shafts of all Land Rovers. It features a thin wall 9/16" flank drive impact socket on one end of a slim-line extension, and a standard 1/2" drive on the other. The overall length is 6" to clear the u-joint yokes completely. It is made in Japan from chrome vanadium.  $49

After the first time I had to remove my front drive shaft, I vowed I would find this tool. The viscous center differential had seized in my Borg Warner transfer case. I though I would just whip out my socket set and remove the front shaft to ease the stress on my drivetrain, at least until I could get the transfer case fixed. Little did I know that the drive shaft nuts are so close to the yokes that there is virtually no room to turn a conventional socket or wrench more than a 1/16 of a turn at a time. So, an hour later, with a very sore neck and arms, I get the drive shaft out. 

With this tool it would have taken about 10 minutes max. Less with an impact wrench.
